Since my mother was pregnant, she thought how to name me. She likes the name Jury and got the idea to gave me a name closer to that one.  Also she adored her father whose name was Julio and in his honor she decided to derived my name of July which is my grandfather’s name in English. My father doesn’t complain, because they have an agreed, he gave the name to the previous baby and was my mother’s turn. The result of the combination of my mother’s ideas was Julitsa and she decided to gave me that name.  This is the story of how and why my parents chose  my name, but ; What’s  the theoretic origin of my name? What it means?

July as the month,  is form of the name Julius which is an Ancient Roman name, probably  related to the name of the Roman god Jupiter, and means Down-bearded youth. Another spelling for July is Julie which have an French origin, is the traduction of Julia in French, and can be considered as a feminine form of Julian.   It also have an Latin-American origin and means youthful, Jove’s child and soft-haired. Most of these names are derived of the name Julia which is a biblical name.  Julitta which is a name closer to mines is considered a diminutive of Julia and was the name of a 4th- century Saint who was martyred in Tarsus with her young son Quiricus. Many of these statements are establish of other people thoughts, but it’s time to my argumentative part.

I consider the Down-bearded youth meaning is kind of weird and funny for me, because I’m not a boy, but it identify me a little bit because I’m a hairless girl compared to another girls. By the other hand the youthful meaning engage perfectly with me, because I’m dynamic and cheerful. Also the soft-haired meaning is one of the physical characteristic I have. My parents are very religious and mysteriously decided to named me with a name derived of Julia without knowing that is a biblical name; the younger of my brothers, Abraham, also have a biblical name selected for my father for that reason.

Hello, my name is Julitsa Martínez Velázquez. I’m a product of a miracle, because when my mother was pregnant her doctor think that she got an ulcer and he wanted to make her an operation to take it out, I almost get kill but my father searched  another doctor whose make a pregnant test to my mother and the result was positive. Since my childhood I get interested on mathematics, music and creating things, which let me choose my major. Actually I play guitar and help my relatives with their mathematics’s exercises. I consider that I’m a very creative writer and I like to support my ideas with facts and quotes. I also use sentences that gives an idea to the reader of what I will be talking about in the next paragraph. I commit error in my writings, because I try to translate my thoughts in English word by word ignoring syntax. In my writings I always use topics of interests so my “‘readers” don’t get bored so easily but I also make a lot of grammatical errors, and that’s a thing that I need to modify. In my previous courses I wrote narrative essays, argumentative essays and one personal essay, which help me to develop my writings skills.
